I'm heading to Vegas in a week or two for some much needed relaxation and some no-limit poker. I started going to Vegas when I was 17 years old. I won't go into detail about all the naughty things I did, but it's safe to assume that I was pretty bad. You can check drinking, smoking and gambling off the dirty deeds list. When I go to Vegas now there's a bit more nostalgia involved. I miss some of the old and now demolished casinos. Favorite haunts that had that odd combination of classy and grungy at the same time. Like an old dirty lounge that has a singer who makes the place sparkle.
Whenever I travel, I have a pretty vast array of vintage luggage to choose from. Here are a few recently acquired pieces. I'm going to start with my fave color. I know, it's shocking.
This overnight bag feels like a cross between a bowling bag, a tote and a doctor's satchel. It's a pretty unique shape so far as old vintage bags go and it's in wonderful condition. But let's not kid ourselves, it's the orange vinyl with brown straps that make this bag sing!
Oh the color! It's perfectly pumpkin! Fantastic for travelling in the fall.
I also picked up this wonderful Samsonite tote. The shape of this one is very standard for vintage bags, like American Tourister (which I collect). This bag is crazy unique though. The bag is green with this sort of luster gold finish. It was pretty hard to photograph - but all the shiny in this picture is gold!
It looks like the luggage fairy got a hold of this bag and went to town. The effect is far more stunning in person.
I think I'll choose the orange bag for the Vegas trip. I've got a great yellow AT tote that will really compliment it! I hope everyone has a great weekend =)
