Thrift Share Monday -

I didn't do a ton of thrifting this week. The weather has been 110+ degrees all week, which pretty much obliterates any desire to actually go outside and do things. I know I should be used to it, having lived in Arizona for the last 25 years or so, but I swear my reaction to this crazy heat just gets worse, not better. At any rate, I try to consolidate all errands into one outing, if I can. Never venturing far from air conditioning and cold water. Since I only went out one day, I was delighted to find this amazing little pirate ship book end!

And what could possibly be better than one pirate ship bookend?! Why, TWO pirate ship bookends, of course!

Things are never safe on the high seas, however. A giant souvenir Hawaiian whale swoops up through the depths of the menacing sea to overtake and eat an entire pirate ship!

Alas, no pirates (or whales) were hurt in the making of this Thrift Share post.

Thanks for reading! I'm linking up this week to Apron Thrift Girl's Thrift Share Monday and Her Library Adventures Flea Market Finds. I hope everyone had a great week of thrifting. I can't wait to pop over and peruse everyone's treasures! Be sure to stop by tomorrow and vote on this week's Vintage Hot or Not.

  1. Luuuucky! I love the hell out of the boat book ends and whale finds! I braved TWO flea markets in our humid Florida weather, forgetting my water. Next time: I'll leave early and have a cooler of beverages! Ouch!

  7. I love both finds, I can't get enough of nautical items lately, especially whales! I found a very similar ship bookend on a trip back to my hometown (alas only found 1): http://thriftaholic.blogspot.com/2011/05/thrift-haul-hometown-finds.html

  8. Hey, didn't you find some pirate ship type metal wall sculpture thing? I could be getting blogs confused :/ Either way LOVE those bookends. I would probably destroy their natural patina and paint them glossy hot pink!
