Thrift Share

I hope everyone had a happy Easter! I didn't get a lot of thrifting done this weekend. Instead I did a ton of cooking (using my Pyrex of course, then not taking pictures, argh!) and I got to spend a lot of time with my family. Good times =D Here are a couple of the finds I did manage to pick up at a thrift store.

These aren't vintage - but they are Le Creuset! I'm not much of a tea drinker, but I've been looking for a nice tea kettle for warming up stock while I'm cooking. I was both surprised and very happy to run across these kettles. Who donates Le Creuset?! I'm happy they did!

So pretty! I'm keeping the blue kettle and the red kettle is going to my lovely and fabulous friend Shane in St. Louis, who shares a love for all things Le Creuset. I don't mind telling you that I feel like I got one over on Goodwill (whose prices have been crazy lately) I paid $3 each for some hella expensive kettles!

This next find is 1975 Flash and Aquaman record! It has two stories, "The Three Faces of Mr. Big," and "The Defeat of The Dehydrator" I gotta say, "The Dehydrator" doesn't sound like much of a villain unless you're Aquaman. He does make me want to reach for some lotion though, so maybe he is a little tiny bit scary.

I love walking into a thrift store when all the potential in the world is available. You never know what you'll find and if you're looking for a specific thing it's almost always impossible to find. When I spotted these boxes of little glass bottles on a shelf I was super stoked.

They're very small and I think they're old medicine bottles. Take a look at the caps - they look like they're syringe ready. I picked up two boxes for a total of 36 bottles and I can't wait to repurpose them! I'm thinking little jars of buttons, little terrarium jars, beads, etc! I'm sure these will make another appearance as a vintage before and after.

Okay, here's my last and most fab find - Behold the glory of the perfect 80s gym bag!

Thanks for reading! Sorry for the late post. After cooking for hours on end Sunday, I decided to take yesterday off. I spent most of the day in bed watching crappy Bravo TV and not feeling the least bit guilty! Linking up to Apron Thrift Girl's Thrift Share Monday - check out the awesomeness!

  1. Oh my god, that rainbow gym tote - I am envisaging Freddy Mercury or similar in tight white shorts posing with it!

The Dehydrator? Maybe it's some kind of public service message to get kids drinking water. I remember in my primary school there was a superman poster where he defeated the evil 'Nick-O-Teen' who was skulking in an alley, smoking and looking shifty.

The Le Creuset kettles are gorgeous. Earlier this year I found a vintage Le Creuset casserole dish for £3 in a charity shop - something similar is worth £99 new!

  2. That gym bag reminds me of Mork and Mindy...didn't Mork wear a rainbow coloured t.shirt? (or was that show before your time?)
I love the tea caddy's in the background of Le Creuset pic and I'm still drooling over the colour of your walls!

    p.s. emailing Q and A's today

Lakota - You've left me wishing I had a Freddy Mercury look-alike friend who I could trick into modeling that bag. Haha.

Kylie - I'm looking for the paint chip so I can pass the info on to you! (Or mail you the chip)
