Makeover

I've been MIA for about a week. Over the holiday my boyfriend and I decided to take on a big home project. As I got the shop up and running, I was very focused on adding inventory, getting things listed, etc. I didn't give a lot of thought to exactly where I would put everything. As the house slowly became overrun, we decided to clean out a spare bedroom we'd been using as storage and set it us as the official Atomic Betties Headquarters and Secret Lair. I'm super mad at myself for NOT taking before pics.. but picture a room that's been painted half white and half red, with a strip of wallpaper around the whole room and a ceiling painted dark navy blue with a million glow in the dark painted stars. See, it's not so hard! After lots of cleaning, stripping wallpaper, and lots of lots of painting (three green walls and one black)... ABs HQ and SL is now officially finished! (With the exception of some on going curtain drama)

As if tackling an entire room over the Thanksgiving weekend wasn't a big enough project. We found this desk for $10 at a thrift shop and I decided to revamp it with some of the left over wall paint. It was a pretty tacky laminate before, but I liked the hardware and I liked the legs. Now it's now black and green and I love it!

I picked up a Kent Coffey dresser, mirror and end table from an estate sale this weekend too! (The room is small and I couldn't manage to get a pick of the whole thing in one shot.. so just consider this an "artistic" angle!)  Here is the opposite end:

I am sooooo happy with this pick. The dresser and end table will provide a lot of storage and surface areas for shooting photos and packing up items to ship. The matching set is called "The Tableau" according to the manufacturing marks in the drawers.

My former dining room table, which is a long, thin danish piece finishes out the room. I've got a great Steelcase chair (that I got for free!) which looks great in the space. The table is cool because it has a drop leaf that slides up and will give me a lot of extra room for packing and photos and what not. As you can see, I desperately need to get some curtains up!
